One more year of the Prowein fair is over. An opportunity to catch up with friends and former colleagues, to taste new trends in Rioja, wines from exotic countries or not that far away...

But, more than anything, a moment to be able to help the Riojan sector promote the wonderful wines produced in our region.

We are doing an amazing job in the winemaking. As Pedro Ballesteros MW states, Rioja is a continent talking about wine: fresh whites, rosés and reds, sparkling wines, barrel fermented wines, fruit-driven reds, classic aged reds and whites. So much! You just have to look for your favorite, or favorites.

Thank you to @larioja for trusting my work. I hope to have been a useful part of the host team in the stand at the fair.

The vintage season has been overwhelming. So much that we have not shared so far about our Best of Wine Tourism award last October.
We are very happy to celebrate that we have been given this award as wine tourism service company 2025 by the chambers of Commerce of Bilbao, Álava and La Rioja. This Great Wine Capitals initiative has been celebrated for about 20 years now and we were able to share the moment with many of the people who are part of the network of hotels, wineries and restaurants in Rioja.

Many times we explain this effect on our wine tours but yesterday it was so clear to everyone. The Cantabrian mountain range, the Northern border to the Rioja winegrowing region, creates a barrier for the Northern winds. These have to climb up and make a beautiful layer of clouds☁️ as the one in the picture.

For locals, this means that you should not forget your jacket when you go out at night... the Northern wind is blowing. For the grapes 🍇, they have the opportunity to freshen up after a hot summer day.

Foehn effect is its name. Come and enjoy it yourself in Rioja!
