Se encuentra en los l\u00edmites entre la Comunidad Aut\u00f3noma de La Rioja y la provincia de \u00c1lava y da cobijo a los vi\u00f1edos de Rioja Alavesa. Las vistas que se consiguen al cumbrear en esta ruta enseguida hacen olvidar el esfuerzo de la pendiente, pues en un d\u00eda claro divisaremos la cumbre del San Lorenzo, el pico m\u00e1s alto de La Rioja, a m\u00e1s de 40 kil\u00f3metros de distancia, y seguir con la vista los meandros del Ebro nos ense\u00f1ar\u00e1 la geograf\u00eda riojana y la posici\u00f3n de muchos de sus pueblos m\u00e1s emblem\u00e1ticos.<\/p><p><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-854\" title=\"La sierra de la Demanda vista desde la sierra del Tolo\u00f1o\" src=\"\/\/www.riojatrek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/tolono2.jpg\" alt=\"La sierra de la Demanda vista desde la sierra del Tolo\u00f1o\" width=\"598\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p><p>El camino hasta la cumbre nos lleva por la ermita del Humilladero de Tolo\u00f1o. El antiguo monasterio de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de los \u00c1ngeles, mucho m\u00e1s arriba, ser\u00e1 nuestro lugar de descanso donde tendremos un rato tambi\u00e9n para almorzar. En esta sencilla ruta de unas dos horas de duraci\u00f3n podr\u00e1s aprender sobre los tiempos en que el r\u00edo Ebro actuaba de frontera entre estos dos reinos.<\/p><p><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-722\" title=\"Castillo de Davalillo, San Asensio\" src=\"\/\/www.riojatrek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/06\/larioja.jpg\" alt=\"Castillo de Davalillo, San Asensio\" width=\"598\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p><p>Puesto que el camino est\u00e1 totalmente flanqueado por vi\u00f1edos de todas clases, aprovecharemos para explicarte diferentes aspectos de la viticultura en esta zona y sobre las tradiciones que han surgido a ra\u00edz de ello. Prueba de esta \u00faltima mentira son las pe\u00f1as de roca caliza que dan cobijo a esta pedan\u00eda. Se encuentran a veinte minutos de Logro\u00f1o, habitadas por rapaces y consideradas las primeras se\u00f1ales de que nos acercamos al Camero Nuevo y a la Sierra de Cebollera.<\/p><p><img class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-862\" title=\"Las pe\u00f1as de Islallana\" src=\"\/\/www.riojatrek.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/islallana1.jpg\" alt=\"Las pe\u00f1as de Islallana\" width=\"598\" height=\"240\" \/><\/p><p>Desde lo alto se puede divisar buena parte del paisaje de La Rioja y \u00c1lava: Logro\u00f1o, multitud de pueblos de la Rioja Alta, la sierra de Cantabria, el r\u00edo Iregua ba\u00f1ando con sus aguas los huertos de las riberas, los variados cultivos de la zona.
